Common questions
How do I create a PonderPigeon account?
Create an account with an email address, display name and a password of 12–128 characters. Save the recovery code shown next before continuing. This is your own PonderPigeon sign-in; it keeps saved products and experiences together across devices. An account does not verify that you own a product.
What if I forget my password?
Open Account recovery and enter your email, saved recovery code and a new password. The code works once and expires after a year. Resetting your password signs out existing sessions; after signing back in, generate a new code in Account security. No password-reset email is sent. If you have neither your password nor a valid saved code, account recovery is not available in this beta.
Can I delete my account or just clear my saved products?
Both options are in My products. “Delete saved data” clears your preferences, wishlist, targets, experiences and reports while keeping your sign-in. “Delete my account permanently” under Account security also removes your login, credentials and sessions and requires your current password. These actions cannot be undone. Download your saved data first if you want a copy.
How do I report incorrect product information?
Choose “Report a listing problem” on a product page while signed in. Select the issue and describe what should be checked, including a source when possible. Reports go to a private review queue; they do not automatically change a specification or Buy Score. Track the status in My listing reports. Do not include receipts, order numbers or personal details.
Why is there no Buy Score for some products?
A useful recommendation needs more than a product description. When owner evidence, meaningful price history, ownership costs or repairability are missing, we show what is known and leave the score unavailable. We never invent owner counts or turn missing evidence into a zero. Read how the score works.
Can I search for a product that is not listed yet?
Yes. Search by category, brand, product name or model number. Suitable connected retailers can add exact listings automatically. For other categories, broader search offers external web sources when its search service is connected, plus Google Shopping and web search links. Web sources are not saved comparison products. You can also paste a full product-page URL from a supported retailer; a blocked or unsupported page returns an explanation instead of guessed facts. Coverage is still limited, so a missing result does not mean the product does not exist.
Why are there no prices for my country?
You can choose a country or territory worldwide, but connected retailers cover a smaller set of markets. A price from another country does not establish delivery to your address. Choose your shopping country at the top of the page, then check the retailer source for stock, shipping and final taxes.
What does changing my currency do?
Your preferred currency is saved with your shopping country. Converted amounts are estimates and display a reference exchange-rate date when available. Retailer offers retain their original currency so you can see what the store actually charges. A converted amount does not include shipping, duties or any extra checkout charges.
How do I remove a product from a comparison?
Select up to three products using Add to compare. Use the remove button beside a selected product in the comparison tray, or remove it on the comparison page. Clear the selection to start again. The selection is saved on this browser; opening a comparison link lets someone else view those products.
Are all owners verified?
No. Current contributions are self-reported and labeled unverified. Review checks whether a response is suitable to include; it does not prove that the person purchased or owns the product. Only approved contributions enter community statistics, and sample sizes remain visible. Receipt verification is not available yet.
Can I edit or remove my ownership experience?
Yes. Sign in and open My products to manage your saved products, price targets and submitted experiences. An edited experience returns to the review queue. Please avoid personal information such as order numbers, addresses or serial numbers in optional comments.
Will you email me when a product reaches my target price?
Open My products to check saved price targets against available fresh offers in the target’s country and currency. Those checks run while you use the account page. Email, push notifications and background alerts are not connected yet, so saving a target does not schedule a notification. Confirm the retailer’s final checkout price before purchasing.
Why can a price-history chart be empty?
We record prices when connected offers are checked. History starts with observations we have actually stored; it is not reconstructed from an AI estimate. A newly added product may have only a current offer or a few observations. Variant, country and currency must match before history can support a price verdict.
How do I recover if a page or request fails?
Try the page again. For an interrupted account save, first check My products to see whether the change was saved. A retailer may temporarily block requests, remove a listing or change its page. You can still search for the exact model or open its linked retailer source. Never paste your API key or account password into the search box.
